There’s No Place Like Home…arama: The Study & Guest Bath

It’s been a while since we visited the Homearama house. Today, we are looking at the Study and Guest Bath.

The Study

You enter the Study through a set of french doors off the Basement Family Room. We wanted this room to exude masculine warmth though lots of texture and rich woods. For the lower half of the walls, we added wainscoting and carried the taupe trim color in from the Basement.

Above the wainscot, we installed a straw colored grasscloth. Grasscloth is a great way to add texture to a space while keeping it neutral.

DSC_3986We added drapery panels in a paisley tapestry fabric mounted with grommets for a more masculine touch.

DSC_3987We found a kidney shaped two-tone desk and a matching file cabinet with a bowed front. A leather chair and ottoman add a nice seating area.

Guest Bathroom

The Guest Bath is a full bath so we added drama with a floor-to-ceiling custom shower curtain and valance.

DSC_3993This room has lots of texture as well with ceramic plank flooring and pinstripe wallpaper. The custom stand-alone vanity makes a real statement. Don’t be afraid of a small space – this one packs a lot of punch!
