Louisville Nests – Let’s Freshen Up: Kitchen

As a part of our series “Louisville Nests – Let’s Freshen Up” we bring you the Kitchen.

When I was contacted by this Louisville, Kentucky homeowner, her words were her home needs “freshening up”.  We opted to for using existing furniture and picking up a couple of new items to freshen up her spaces.  She found a piece of art at my store that she loved, and we used that from which to pull our “fresh” color scheme of blues, greens, and tans.

Fabric You Never Got Around To

The Kitchen was in good shape, but needed the finishing touches. We used a fabric that the homeowner had loved, purchased, but never used to make a valance for the Breakfast Area window and over the Kitchen sink.

Storage Needs

To add more storage, the homeowner thought “outside of the box” and allowed us to add this bombay chest which is perfect for storing linens and large serving pieces. We hung her existing vibrant artwork over the chest and add some coordinating prints and accessories. These pops of color in addition to the rich green wall color  make for a warm and inviting Kitchen.
