Louisville Nests – Pretty in Prospect: Kitchen, Breakfast Area, & Family Room

The homeowners had great furniture pieces in place, but we gave this Kitchen, Breakfast Area, & Family Room a punch by updating and using existing furniture.

Wall Color

First we had to change the wall color.  The walls throughout the the Kitchen/Breakfast Area/Family Room were a green color which was the right color for the room – it was just the wrong green. Changing the color to one with more depth and warmth changed the entire feel of the space. Then we replaced the blinds with woven shades topped with custom window treatments.

Kitchen and Breakfast Area

We updated the wrought iron bar stools with swivel ones upholstered in an easy-to-clean faux leather fabric.  The we had custom cushions made in a fun animal print stripe for the Breakfast chairs.

Family Room

Working with the existing rug in the Family Room, we were able to reupholster a swivel chair from another room in a fun pattern that tied everything together. For a finishing touch, we added vibrant artwork over the sofa to finish off the space.
