Homearama 2016: Master Bath
We have finally reached my favorite room in the Homearama 2016: Master Bath. This space has a very monochromatic feel to it. However, what it lacks in color, it more than makes up for in rich textures and finishes.
We found this fabulous granite at OHM and pulled out the warm grays and greens to use for our tile selections. We paired our granite with off white cabinetry with an overall bronze glaze. The glaze is highlighted perfectly with the shaker style cabinets. We mixed our metals (which I love to do) with oil rubbed bronze hardware and brushed nickel fixtures.
Built-in Linen Closet
There was not room in the Master Bath for a linen closet so incorporated a linen cabinet into the vanity area. This allows the homeowners to have much needed storage and separate vanities. We top the vanities with framed mirrors that matched the cabinetry. Also, we flanked the vanities with sconces which provide the most advantageous lighting in a bathroom.
Stand Alone Tub
Across from the vanity area sits this gorgeous stand alone tub on river rock. The fossil motif floor tile runs up the wall as a backdrop. The small triple window was framed out with detailed molding. This orb chandelier in a brushed nickel finish hangs over the tub. We placed a stylish garden stool next to the tub to place a book or glass of wine.
Rain shower heads are so luxurious. We made it a must in this Homearama as well as including a regular shower head and hand held in our large shower. The 12×24 tiles ran vertically up the wall and a band of the river rock horizontally.
To accessorize the Water Closet, we hung prints in a feather motif and this blue and gray vase with natural twigs. Sherwin Williams’ Sea Salt (SW6024) is the paint color on the walls. Although these other Master Baths (here and here) utilize dark cabinetry, we were able to create a stunning Homearama 2016: Master Bath with minimal color.
