Iroquois Park Addition: Sunroom & Mudroom

We recently completed this Main Level project which started with an Iroquois Park Addition: Sunroom & Mudroom. The homeowners love their home in Iroquois Park neighborhood, but needed more room for their family of 6. The addition included renovating the Kitchen, enlarging the Breakfast Area, and adding the Sunroom, Mudroom, 3rd Car Garage, Screened In Porch and Deck with Outdoor Kitchen.

Sunroom

This space is for the Mom. She wanted a retreat complete with a built-in wine bar. She loves color – especially oranges so we have lots of great color in the space. For seating, we only had space for a love seat and two armless accent chairs. We purposely did not do a coffee table but defined the seating area with this transitional round rug. An unique drum table, a rattan 3-tiered table, vibrant artwork and interesting lamp finish off the space.

This glass and metallic console is the perfect width for this walkway which has major foot traffic coming in from new Mudroom into Kitchen area. The incredible tree artwork was in the inspiration for the colors in this space including the wall color Soft Apricot (SW 6352) by Sherwin-Williams.

The vaulted ceiling is the perfect spot for a striking chandelier. We did not want to obstruct this incredible view so we topped the windows with a cornice board in a vintage fabric. Love the view of the rolled back on the accent chairs.

We worked with a cabinet designer to incorporate lots of great detail in this wine bar. We really wanted it to feel more like a piece of furniture than cabinetry. The decorative mirror adds balance and reflects through to the other spaces. We nestled this awesome chair in a painted orange finish with a floor lamp in the corner for more color and additional seating.

Mudroom

The homeowners designed the cabinetry in the new Mudroom complete with decorative wire to hide doggie crates, a secret entrance to the litter box, a bench for putting on shoes, and a chalkboard for reminders. The brick flooring makes it feel like the space has been here forever. The lantern pendant is a welcoming touch. We added a cushion on the bench to bring in the orange color, and the leaf artwork on the wall ties that color to the wall color which is Sherwin Williams’ Comfort Gray (SW6205).

Stay Tuned next week for more spaces in this Iroquois Park Addition. In the meantime, enjoy other Sunrooms (here and here) designed by Robin’s Nest Interiors!
