Homearama 2016: Guest Bathroom

Welcome to Homearama 2016: Guest Bathroom, our next stop on the tour of the fabulous Southern Belle. When the homeowners mentioned that they wanted to incorporate grays into this space, I knew I would pair it with yellow.

Yellow + Gray

Yellow is not one of my favorite colors, but yellow and gray is one of my favorite color combinations. Our plan was to paint the vanity gray and the walls yellow and use timeless elements to finish the space.

For the vanity, we used inset doors in a shaker style, dressed it with brushed nickel hardware, and topped it off with a Azul Plantino granite countertop and a rectangle undermount white sink.

On the Walls

We added a brushed nickel mirror with a beaded detail above the countertop. We went vintage with this light fixture featuring ogee glass shades. The framed mirrored artwork in a graphic floral pattern tie our color scheme together beautifully.

The real star of this bath is the carrara marble octagon tile flooring. It looks fabulous next to the beveled white subway tile used for the tub surround and shower walls. I love the way the gray grout outlines the classic subway tile.

Custom Shower Curtain

Adding fabric to a bathroom brings in real warmth so we had a custom shower curtain made in a gray & yellow Ikat pattern. We did not want to distract from the great window trim so a small cornice in a fun striped pattern was installed. We absolutely love the fun towels in crisp white with gray wording and detail.

A lot of great elements were packed into this Homearama 2016: Guest Bathroom. Click here and here to see other Guest Bathrooms designed by Robin’s Nest Interiors. Enjoy!
