The Sesame Book: Family Room & Breakfast Area
We are calling this project The Sesame Book – Family Room & Breakfast Area because this long time client and dear friend of mine (who also happens to be Abby’s mom) loves fabrics and pulled most of the ones we used from Fabricut’s Sesame Book. Although we used warm grays as our neutral, you can see the pops of citron are what really makes the room a knockout.
We started with this signature fabric which incorporated all the colors we wanted to use in the space and used it on an accent chair nestled by the fireplace, recently updated with ledge stone also in our color palette. We added this fun shagreen and gold table finished off with a mini lamp in a mercury glass finish.
I love the lines of this sofa. The homeowner has a transitional style so the bench cushion seat on the sofa was the perfect choice. We used a tufted ottoman with a steel base as the coffee table and added a silver mirrored tray to set drinks on. The linear lamp fits perfectly on the glass and silver side table. See, you can mix metal finishes to create an interesting look in your rooms!
This is the room where the homeowners watch television so these two comfy chairs complement each other perfectly. The leather chair in warm gray is actually a recliner! Recliners have come a long way, baby! The greek key fabric on the chair and ottoman is stunning! We finished off the vignette with a black marble top round table with a burnished gold base topped off with this stunning silver circular lamp. We flanked the large windows with drapery panels and completed the wall space with this unique artwork with an oversized gray mat.
For the Breakfast Room, we painted the walls a soft gray, added inverted box pleat valances in this fabulous medallion fabric, recovered the chair cushions, and replaced the rug with this one the homeowner found in our color palette. Again we flanked with large window with this vibrant artwork which also reinforced our color palette.
These two spaces tie nicely together, and the warm grays make for a pleasing backdrop to the fun pops of citron. Thank you Sesame Book for having so many fabulous fabric options, and thank you to Abby’s mom for letting us share the spaces!
