Polo Fields Remodel: Kitchen + Breakfast Area
This Polo Fields remodel is one of my favorites because the end result really reflects the homeowners’ style and how they live in their home. We painted their existing Kitchen cabinets Sherwin Williams’ Gauntlet Gray (SW7019). Shout out to Kelly Sisler of Creative Finishes by Kelly! We installed new quartz countertops, Viatera’s Everest. I love the mix of colors on the light background, and the gray quartz composite sink adds dimension. We kept the existing appliances with the exception of relocating the microwave from above the stove to the new Bar Area and replacing it with a chimney style vent hood. To complete the space, we added 4×12 white subway tile with a darker gray grout that accents the larger size and helps the backsplash stand out.
One of the biggest changes we made in the Kitchen was extending this overhang to make it a functional eating space. Previously this was a pass through area, but now the homeowners have added 4 additional seats to the heart of their home. I love the industrial brackets used to support the extended countertop.
By far, the biggest update we made was to the previous Butler’s Pantry which was used primarily as a drop off/dumping spot. We removed some of the existing cabinetry to relocate the microwave and added open shelving and wine storage above. We removed the base cabinets and replaced them with a wine cooler, a beverage fridge and more open shelving. A shout out to Brad Anderson, contractor and trim carpenter extraordinaire! We painted everything the same color as the Kitchen cabinets and extended the backsplash into this space for a cohesive look. Now this No Man’s Land is truly a functional entertaining space for the homeowners.
