All Things Kentucky

It’s Derby season here in the bluegrass and I don’t know about you, but we are prepared! We love adding our horse decor throughout the showroom. Whether it be through artwork, accessories or a set of coasters, there are plenty of ways to tastefully add the Derby spirit into your space just in time for the races.

Last fall at Market we just fell in love with what we call the “horse butt” painting! The moody tones and fresh color palette make this a sophisticated option for artwork. We played up the pink tones of the tail and background, but we could have easily gone with the blues or golds. Keep in mind that all our artwork can be resized to fit your space.

Our horse head painting is the only original oil painting in the store and currently one of our Red Tag Items. You just have to see this guy in person to see the outstanding talent of artist Robert Jenkins from Canada.

This horse head is quite a stately sculpture. Mounted on a brick, it would make an excellent office desk accessory or feature for a mantel!

For all your guests coming into town, don’t miss our Italian Stone coasters! This set features our state’s signature liquor, but we have many other Louisville, Kentucky, and specifically Derby themed coasters throughout the showroom. Plus, they soak up all the sweating put off from those hardworking Mint Juleps.

This jockey horse is a great option for those that just need a small touch of Derby. We like to set it on an ottoman or coffee table around this time of year. Having a Derby spread the day of races? It would also look fantastic among the tabletop decor! Enjoy!

Below are some of our favorite spaces that only we in Kentucky can truly appreciate! Click on the pictures below to see the full project posts.

Frankfort Home: Basement Gathering Room

This awesome Kentucky wood cutout is the perfect touch for this corner bar. The homeowner found it at a local art gallery.

Family Home Update: Basement Living Area + Bar

The homeowners were given these bourbon barrel tables with glass tops, and they fit perfectly in the dining area. We installed the homeowner’s own European mounts above them.
