On Trend at Robin’s Nest

Around this time every year, we look to the industry leaders in color to see in what direction we are headed. If you have followed us for long, you know that Pantone is the ultimate leader, with teams that predict the color trends about 5 years in advance. That sounds crazy, right? Well, it takes about that long for products to be manufactured and reach retailers from fashion to interior design.

This year, bold blues seem to be the trend this year as not only Pantone, but Sherwin Williams and PPG chose deep blues, with slightly different undertones. The only exception is Benjamin Moore. They chose a blush tone which is out of character for them as they tend to be our go-to brand for pigmented, bold wall colors. We do, however, love rosy blush tones and consider them a new neutral that can add warmth to your space without looking like a little girls room.

Robin’s Nest is ahead of the trend, if we don’t say so ourselves! Last January, our Color of the Month was Needlepoint Navy by Sherwin Williams . It is by far one of our favorite blues – we even painted it on an accent wall in the store and we haven’t looked back since.

Below are some great selections of artwork and accessories in the store that hit all of this year’s colors. But don’t forget – always trend lightly!
