Polo Fields Kitchen Update
This Polo Fields Kitchen is quite the transformation. As you can see from the Before photos, we started out with wood cabinets, granite countertops and slate backsplash. We wanted to work with the existing cabinetry so we removed some dated features and added paneling on the ends to mimic the cabinetry style. We painted the perimeter cabinetry Benjamin Moore’s White Dove (OC-17) and the island Sherwin Williams’ African Gray (SW9162) to tie in with the blue/grays the homeowner has in her window treatments. We added a subtle glaze to all of the cabinetry for a nice finished look. For the countertops, we went with one of my favorites, Cambria’s Ironsbridge which is a quartz product with subtle movement and colors of warm grays, taupes and whites. Our sink is a quartz composite sink in a Concrete finish which breaks up the expanse of white countertop. For the backsplash, we went with a crackled white subway tile with a warm gray grout. Our last finishing touch was nicely detailed cabinetry hardware in a wonderful Antique Pewter finish.
This Kitchen feels twice as big with the updates. The morale of the story is you can have a “new” Kitchen without changing the cabinetry or the layout. Updating the finishes can change the entire feel of the space. Click here and here to see other Kitchens we have transformed without gutting them. Enjoy!
