Waterstone – Laundry Room

Every year this homeowner attacks a new project to update their lovely home. Last year we tackled two bathrooms, updated the Main Living Area, and renovated the Laundry Room. The homeowner comes to me with lots of photos of things she likes, and we come up with a sketch, and our wonderful contractor makes it happen. This space is the pass through from the garage so we wanted to make it more of an inviting space while keeping the functionality. Two of the most impactful changes were removing a coat closet by the door and adding a pocket door – these two changes opened up the space tremendously. Some functional elements were that we gave them a folding counter above their existing washer & dryer, a space to hang coats with the built-in cubby area, and plenty of storage. Some design elements were taking the wainscoting all the way around the space; adding gorgeous wood countertops for the folding area and bench seating; installing a stylish semi-flush lighting fixture; and, laying brick veneer on a herringbone pattern – fabulous and will be easy to maintain.

It is always great to see a plan come together. Check out these other Laundry Rooms – here and here. As I always say, “We have to do laundry so we might as well do it in style!” Enjoy!
